From the Superintendent

Dear Students, Families, Staff and Friends of WCSU:

It is a great honor to introduce myself as the new Superintendent of the Windsor Central Supervisory Union schools. I’m delighted to be working here with so many talented and committed people all of whom are fully dedicated to supporting the academic, social and emotional growth of the students in our care.

Within WCSU, our school and local communities are strong. This was reaffirmed recently in the face of the difficult challenges presented by the late summer tropical storm that prevented us from opening schools on time. It is the strength of community, dedication of the WCSU employees and support of committed school board members that enabled us to stay on course and begin the school year with optimism.

What attracted me most to the supervisory union and this position was the diversity of our schools and programs.  It is the unique characteristics of each school that make us such a vibrant organization. It is also an opportunity and challenge for me to bring the organization together in a way that can preserve and honor that uniqueness while marshaling and maximizing the combined and shared talents in each community to ensure equity of opportunity and prudent use of scarce resources.

With this in mind, I will strive to promote and provide opportunities for collaboration and cohesiveness that will allow us to learn from each other, capitalize on shared talent, and maximize our resources for the benefit of our students. School and schooling can be a wonderful experience for children and young adults and we will continue to meet our responsibility to provide meaningful and relevant learning opportunities that are challenging and inspirational. I am proud to have been selected to lead the supervisory union as it works to fulfill its mission and look forward continuing the high quality work begun by those before me.

Sincerely,

Alice Thomason Worth
