Teacher Sabbatical & Short Term Leave requests

WCEA Teachers Sabbatical Leave-- Article 7.5 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement outlines the process and timeline for requesting a sabbatical leave for the purpose of enhancing your professional responsibilities, e.g. to teaching, to student learning; to programs, courses, or curriculum development; to retraining; or to an institution-specific project.

Short-Term Leave - Teachers pursuing their doctorate level degree will be provided with up to five (5) professional days to complete their dissertation. Please use the same application format as a sabbatical leave request.

Life Insurance

MVSU offers an employer sponsored $10,000 life insurance policy to teachers and non-union support staff, and a $30,000 life insurance policy to our educational support personnel who work at least 30 hours per week while employed in a member school district. Principals and administrators who work at least 30 hours per week receive a $100,000 employer sponsored life insurance policy while employed in a member school district.

Long Term Disability
