What does FREE SCHOOL MEALS mean for my child?

  • FREE BREAKFAST

    • Grab and Go breakfast at the designated breakfast sites, taken back to the classroom to eat. No ordering needed.

  •  FREE LUNCH

    • At our elementary schools, students will order lunch during morning meetings just like they did in the past. They will place their order each morning for the kitchen to prepare. The kitchen will prepare the meals and either deliver to the classrooms or students will pick up the meals during lunch time.

    •  At WUHSMS, students may visit the cafeteria during their lunch time to pick up a meal to bring back to the designated lunch classroom or eat in the cafeteria spaces.

    • All students will need to learn their four digit lunch number (or PIN #) to input into the register for each meal. Accounts will not be charged, however the meal needs to match a student ID number.

    • At the elementary schools, student can either input their PIN or give their name to the register person.

  • Student meal accounts WILL NOT BE CHARGED.

  • FREE & REDUCED MEAL STATUS: Even though meals FREE again we need to continue collecting Free & Reduced VT Meal Applications. Please fill out the application for Free & Reduced School Meals and return to your school's administrative assistant. If you need assistance with the application, please let us know how we can help. Filling out the Free & Reduced Meal Application helps our district receive funding for many other programs and helps you receive other assistance. You may apply at ANY time during the school year if your family income status changes.
